The National Clinical Guideline for Stroke gives the official recommendations about what care should be provided after stroke. this is the ‘easy read’ version, which explains everything in plain English.
Stroke Association
A UK-wide charity, funding research into stroke prevention, treatment and better methods of rehabilitation. Stroke patients and their families are assisted through it’s Rehabilitation and SUpport Services, which include communication support, family and carer support, information services and welfare grants. Northern Ireland Chest, Heart and Stroke

Chest, Heart and Stroke Scotland
One of Scotland’s main health charities, it aims to improve the quality of life for stroke survivors and patients with chest and heart conditions in Scotland. It funds research and provides advice, support and training to stroke survivors and their families. It’s Volunteer Stroke Service provides support and rehabilitation to stroke survivors, particularly those with language problems. Different Strokes
